And now the fun starts! The A380 case mod is my introduction to modding. I am using my Xclio A380 tower and turning it into an AIR machine. 2x 250mm fans will push air throught the front as an acrylic splitter will direct the air over the CPU and graphics card. 6x 120mm Enermax "cluster" fans will serve as exhaust to keep air moving. If you want to know more visit my post under the modding forum. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=180594 So here it goes Day 1: Breakdown (not much progress today but its a start) Here is the case that my internals will be sitting in until the case is finished. Not pretty but cheap and effective. Just hacked a big hole in the side and used one of the old 250mm fans to keep things cool. Not done cleaning it up yet the fan is on crooked until I get my cordless drill back. Major components all disassembled Rivits..... Lots of them.....Ewwww Spidey wanted in on the action.... Thanks for lookin! Mod of the Month Nominee! vote!
Fascinating concept....it looks pretty sweet! But how are noise levels going to hold up in your design?
I like those huge fans! Although sound is against you... The force may be with you, but the dark side is strong in this one. lol
Thanks everyone! Just a little update, I just got the tracking number for the fans. They should be here by Monday! 2x White LED 250mm fans 6x White Enermax "cluster" 120mm fans
Sweet! Good to see you over here Roboduck. I get to watch YOU build something now! Also good to see the Spider PC in action.
Spider PC looks cool in person. Followed the planning thread very keenly - waiting to see how this turns out.
I wonder which other one doesn't fit? Honestly im not sure yet? The big 250mm fans are pretty quiet, its the 120's that are going to be noisy. I'm planning on all the fans being having rubber grommets but I don't know what else. If anyone has any suggestions let me know!
You could undervolt the 120mm fans so they run at lower speeds, hence more quiet. Use a fan controller, or do a quick 7v mod.
I think ill go with the fan controller. 6 dials and 2 Military Fighter Pilot switches for the 250mm fans.
Also if you would have access to an CNC, something like these as feets might look diffferent, (don't know just have a look)
