you could use two y adapters, but I think it would look a bit sloppy. I'd break out the soldering iron and make my own 3 way splice for the fans. If done in series the voltage won't drop but you will sacrifice a bit of amperage. ( approx. 1/3 of the amp will go to each fan )
ya I have 3 fans wired to a single connection and they do fine, no noticeable difference in performance when compared to the same fan on its own lead. the fan controller looks pretty good, might be goof a car theme rig as well.
That will be awesome! People will love seeing your Rig. Did you listen to the Stompfest Podcast we posted? here I can't go, but Foamy will be representing Mnpctech at the event. I'm working on a HAF 922 for their Main event prize giveaway.
Thanks Bill! I did listen to the podcast and ive been watching your HAF build (totally sick!). I hope my case will be presentable by then. I spent all of my free time tonight tearing it down. I see a lot of bondo, sanding, and fabricating in the next week and a half. Will that method work with the 3 pin connectors? and will it damage the fan controller having to power three fans through one port?
I know you're going for a Boeing kind of theme, but how about throwing some teeth on that bad boy like the old p-40 tomahawks?
UPDATE TIME!!!! Sorry for the wait, too many excuses so I won't even try But here we go! I have been doing some small things inside the case that Ill show later. For right now I have some early painting shots. The pieces are not screwed in place at the moment so they don't fit properly. This is more just for fun and to get an idea as to how to blend the front bezel and ducts, into the side panel. Im actually pretty happy with the colors for shake and paint cans You will also notice the new fan control. However, Im not happy at all with the control box and am in the process of redesigning it. Hope fully ill have some CNC work done this week. Let me know what you think! Oh and there is a Phenom II X6 1090T hiding in there you can't see And I couldn't help myself, I designed a titanium wedding ring for a friend at work. This is the first test part so I got to keep it. Hope you like!
The colour is beautiful, but I prefer the way the red blends into the white in your avatar pic- bit too much red on the front facia as it is now. Control box does look a bit out of place, though I wouldnt like to say what would make for a better design either :/ Epic mod though dude, been great to follow
The paintjob looks fan-freaking-tastic! It's come out great. And the titanium ring is a wicked idea. Nothing says 'I love you' better than a truly unique ring
I had a feeling the reason you didn't update was because it was half finished. Getting the parts inside and running is often the death of a first mod. That's why a lot of us use a 2nd case. It looks great so far. -You MUST do the heatsink in red! Nice ring, too.
Ah!!! I totally forgot to paint that! maybe tonight ill do that. Yeah, I had to get it together for Sompfest LAN and I kinda stalled for a while after that. But im back in build mode now. I have a spare case Ill be moving the components to after I get the rest of the parts I need to complete the chassis. Edit: Just for you....
that gives a whole new meaning to pac-man and i love that titanium ring idea thats great for the men they can beat the crap out of it and it will stand up to the abuse of a fist fight not the hand so much but oh well
