Before you all laugh at me for being an idiot, I'd like to inform you that I'm taking a no risk strategy after frying my last mobo :D

In the manual for my Abit KR7A-133R I am told that the Fan header 3 is for attatching the connector from the power fan.
What I'd like to know, is can I just use one of my 80mm evercools on it? Am I in any danger of frying anything if I do this?

no the evercools draw little current unlike the deltas. I ran three evercools off of my asus a7v awhile ago for about two years and hd no probs.

should be fine...just check your mobo manual for what the maximum current to be drawn is (call this a) and what the maximum is for the fan by checking the fan specs (call this b)....if b < a then youll be fine...

Great, thanks. I should be alright with the current, these are supposed to be low noise (and therefore dont do much work/use much power ;))

the evercools don't draw much power at all. They are very quiet but they don't shift much air.

I bought them for the quietness, but my current CPU fan is so loud its the ony real source of noise in there.

The power they draw wasnt my concern, it was that the mobo manual only mentiones this fan header to say about connecting a power fan. Why dont they say "you can connect any fan but we reccomend using this for the power fan"? That would be much more sensible...
