Hi, i've recently purchased an ABIT geforce4 ti4200 with the mega OTES heatsink/cooling system

The small GPU fan runs at 7200rpm and its flippin' noisy, I was wondering if anyone could adivse me whether it would be possible to run the fan off 5v/7v from my PSU

At the moment the fan power comes from a header on the graphics card. Does anyone have any idea what this voltage would be?
Would 5v slow the thing down a bit without overheating the GPU?

    Any advice appreciated :>

You could either do some soldering and connect it to a 7v molex. Or maybe find a convertor which converts the connector to 4 pins and just 7v the connector by swapping the 12v ground with 5v. Personally I bought a TT GF4 copper cooler and 7 volted that. Runs fine on my Ti 4400. Although undoubtedly sweating a bit.
