Grats Ph4zed, should see you through a good few years of ultra-detail gaming.
You made a good choice and you won't be disappointed!!
it won't disappoint
just be sure to turn up AA and keep Vsync on, or you'll get tearing even at maximum details in some games.
Paint me green.
Very nice, I hope you enjoy it.
My personal choice in this price range would have been two HD6950's in CF (unlocked to HD6970's).
Arrived this morning. Sadly at work but will post noise/temps/speed impressions when I get home
pssst update your sig
How is that 580 treating you? I would have bloody hated having to work all day knowing it was sat at home waiting for me...
Did a clean Windows install yesterday when I got the card. I can confirm that gaming was a joy. Crysis looked stunning on max settings, BC2 never slowed down and I could finally play big 4v4s on Starcraft 2 on max. Bring on Shogun 2! Also, I'm in the mood for some Sunday morning overclocking
You couldn't before ?
Not when it got to the late game on certain maps.
weird. I never had any issue with my 260@ ultra settings, even with my old X3 720
And it's not like I'm not demanding when it comes to fluidity, I'm probably the worst here
Congrats! Welcome to the gtx 580 club where are the pics! Otherwise it has happened
Spot on +1000
Todays 2560x1600 is tomorrow's 1920x1080. The time will come when 1gb will look distinctly pants and I do not think it's that far away. I remember G92 launching with 512mb and towards the end of it's useful life getting the much needed 1gb upgrade with the GTS 250. Time past and that GPU came to grow into some 1gb framebuffer shoes. If your the kind to hold onto a graphics card for 2 years or more, which in all fairness the OP doesn't look to be, then you'll wish you nought something with more than 1gb behind it.
At 1920x1200 you don't need a 580. Get a 570 and if you upgrade the screen, get another one.
Bit late for that matey
probably was a bit too early for Pookey
don't forget to turn AA all the way to 32xCSAA
