say i had 6 keyboards i was about to throw out. theyre not new, and not really worth giving to anyone. could you suggest something awesome to do with them instead? (or at least useful)

    cheers

    make a gaming keyboard.

remove all the useless keys you dont use in games, nicly space the keys you do use spacifcaly for your own needs.

not much else you can do, unless you want to attempt to make a case out of old keyboards :hehe: :D

Remove all the keys and use them to write a letter to someone.
Make an adress card out of the keys.

In any case, save the keys for later :D

im totally serious, i built one of those for my 8th grade science project. and it was before id ever even heard of anything like that. but then Zboards came along and everyone was all like " hey, you copied that!" and im all like " go to hell, i didnt, i thought it up first, they just made it first." so nobody believed i was the first person.

ooh, sounds intriguing. but i dont see how it would be any more of an advantage than just my normal keyboard? simply because i wont bump other keys by accident?

well it helps you get good at a game faster because you dont need to renember commands and what keys they work with, theyre already labeled for you, its really just for simplicity and all the keys i had were colour coded for driving, fps, flying or whatever your playing. its worth a try, its not that hard to make.

You could take off the keys of your online nickname and glue them to a spare drive bay.

The original ZBoard had stupid round keys that were kind of mixed up and very hard to hit correctly (it also didn't have all the F keys, LAME!). The new ZBoard has a much more conservative QWERTY configuration, but still has a lame gap in one spot and some keys are still mixed up. The ZBoard is a good idea, just poorly implemented. I had one of the originals and I did like it for gaming, quite a bit actually. The folding ZBoard is made of three sections. The entire conservative QWERTY layout can fit on two sections, and the third section on the left is plenty good for the gaming keys. Or, instead of trying to deal with a trifold design (which, as of the original, doesn't even lock together when folded) make it a dual folding design so you don't have to wrestle with key alignment as much.

Edit: Oh, and I must say, the differently weighted switches for the keys on the Das Keyboard is pretty cool. But if I wanted a high end keyboard like that, I'd splurge on one of those fancy aluminum ones with glass keys or whatever.

I saw that in Custom PC, made me laugh quite a lot. I'm surprised it survived!

I would go for one of the gaming keyboard ideas. I am now thinking about making one for my USB keyboard so i can just plug it in before gaming.

I'm going to add LEDs behind the main keys I use for gaming, A S D SHIFT W and the space bar, and maybe have a blinking red one for the ESC key. :p

You sure you would get plenty of visible light from that idea? Great idea too though.
