    Original story

This is a tie-in to the thread about abuse at an orphanage in the USK, but also to something else. THis kind of abuse is what happens when people, any people, are given authority over other people without oversight. We like to think we're different from the people that do this sort of ting, but each of us has an inner monster waiting for the right situation to be let out.

Now here's the tie-in. Look at how stridently bush has defended his "executive privelledge" to do essentially whatever he wants without oversight. Recently the administration has once again asserted that not only are they immune from prosecution, but that Bush aides cannot even be questioned by congress. Remember what happens when a person is given power and then not held accountable and consider the implications.

You could also tie it in with the thread ranting against Australia's decision to censor pornography. We all know where to draw the line, but the line is a mirage. Most abusers are the partners, parents or carers of the victims. Familiarity breeds contempt.
