Is there a way i can access my linux partition from inside windows and transfere files across. I know this can be done the other way round linux > Windows but NTFS cant be written yet can it, or will i still be able to transfere my files from within linux?

Windows will only read FAT, NTFS, CDFS, and EFS partitions. The only way to access your partitions in WIndows that aren't ay of the above, would be a third party program. I don't know if any exist or not.

While NTFS write under Linux is stil experimental and unstable, it is possible. I know I've never done it, I'd rather not risk buggering up all my precious data, bu my one buddy does it regularly and he's had no problems with it. He used Redhat 7.3 for that.

ah rite thanks. Im not going to risk it either. ill just wait untill its stable i gues :(. On the other hand im about to install Lycoris Desktop/lx on another parition. Im pretty sure it can handle ntfs paritions. If i can get my windows files over into that dirsto i should be then able to transfer them files to my RH distro shouldnt i?

    I see. Sounds like Lindows.

This has been attempted before. As you can see Lindows failed miserably, as did those dreamers before it.

There will never be a Linux/Windows cross OS until Microsoft teams up with some good Linux coders and develops Windows using the Linux system. Of course you still won't be able to use any of your old stuff, a giant industry standard would have to be created and changed. This is something that isn't going to happen.
