    Hi,

I was thinking of buying the Acer X233Hbd 23". It appears to be a very nice monitor.

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-043-AC&groupid=17&catid=1425&subcat=

    - Screen Size: 23" Widescreen
    - Resolution: 1920x1080
    - Contrast Ratio: 40000:1
    - Brightness: 300cd/m²
    - Response Time: 5ms
    - Viewing Angles (H/V): 170°/160°
    - Colours: 16.7 Million
    - Inputs: 1x Analogue & 1x DVI-D
    - VESA Compliant
    - Dimensions: 561.6mm x 393.3mm x 177.5mm
    - Weight: 4.8kg
    - Warranty: 3 Years

For £139.99 inc VAT it seems to be significantly cheaper than other comparable monitors. Is there any major downside that I'm missing?

From reviews, it seems that the stand is not very adjustable, but that is not a big deal for me.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was afraid I might be missing something, as it has been a long time since I set up my own system.

Aside from it being a TN panel and that it's ACER it's fine.

I'd buy it if i was in a pinch though.

But overall there isn't much to complain about, unless you're a long time IPS user.

Nothing wrong with it, except the retailer. Search the forums for "OcUK" and take a read.

What do you mean by IPS?

    EDIT: Figured it out. :)

Thanks for the warning. Unfortunately, OcUK is the one of only to carry the DVI + VGA version of this monitor. The other alternative is Pixmania, which is significantly cheaper but they seem to have a worse reputation.
