    Hi

I am trying to play Bioshock with 5.1 sound. i got it to work through analogue but not SPDIF.

Sound card is ASUS Xonar DX
    AMP is Yamaha RX-V1500

ASUS software on PC is ticked for SPDIF Out and set to PCM, Amp is set to TV Theatre (This is the setting used for the analogue setting too) but i can only achieve stereo.

anyone got ideas on what i am missing please?

    thanks

    Beanie

You've got other surround media to play in 5.1 from your PC?

Yes, Bioshock is a 5.1 game and this has been set in the games audio menu.

I have also just read that using the PCM option in the DX menu will only allowing 2 channels to be received from the game, so i have to use the Dolby Digital Line option. still no joy.

    thanks for helping.
