    heyhey
I just got my new laptop which has wireless adator :)
I got a pci wireless card for my pc

    Ok and now the problem.
I set up an ad-hoc network on both they can both see each other and connect to each other.

Then I try to ping them from each other. Says requests timeout. Turned off firewalls on both machines.

Is it because its on the same subnet as my wired network?

    wired network is 192.168.1.xxx
will the wireless cards being on a different subnet make a differnce?

you should set ip adresses for your NTB and PC manualy for example at 192.168.1.1 and 2 but it`s not a problem if there is a 192.168.100.1 for example, but you have to set the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 for both machines ;)

ad hoc networks can be tricky... do you have a wireless router? if so, it could be interfering with your ad hoc setup and moving to a class B subnet would probably fix the problem (just keep your third number different than your router's)

If you don't have a wireless router, I'm not exactly sure why it's not working. However, if you do have a wireless router, why not just use that as a medium for connecting instead of using ad hoc.

    ad hoc = :wallbash:
