It's reasonable not to be interested in music theory. Expressing your lack of interest is also reasonable. The practice only becomes anti when you try to tell specific people for whom the subject is interesting not to talk about it, or chastise them for even bringing it up. What harm, really, has their mention of theory done to you? That's your mistake (in my view). Now here's one of mine: Responding to your first comment, which you might have meant very lightly, as if you'd leveled a charge in deadly earnest. My only excuse for that is the flu shot I received earlier today, which seems to have resulted in the celebrated Giant Diapered Infant Effect.
This stops right now. If you want a debate (and I stress the word debate) about intellectualism you can take it to serious and have it there, but not here, come on!
Oooohhh, this thread just got interesting! I enjoy debates over semantics and people using ever bigger words to outdo each other *gets popcorn* In Prestidigitweeze's defence, he saw the comment as someone taking exception to taking part in a discussion which was previously light hearted (or at least, non-confusing for those of us who don't understand music theory), which is fair enough. I think I can recall several other occasions when other people have taken comments more seriously than they were intended. That's the problem with written discussions on the Internet; it seems you can write as many words as you like and people still won't be able to appreciate what you're trying to say. Nevertheless, the ensuing exchanges were probably unnecessary, particularly as it all started with a misinterpretation, and tended to veer off topic on several occasions.
I quite liked Fod's and PRestidigitwheeze's interesting little diversion into music theory. Similarly I was able to appreciate Sheiken's remark as just tongue-in-cheek. People do well to remember Rule Number Six. It's all just forum chat, you know? It's about the music, man! etc. Chill out, everybody. I mean, really!

I've also spent a few minutes experimenting on one a bit more cerebral: 41088,64,2608,33840,8704,160,32928,3584,8208,34056,0,2560,41120,1024,552,33104 Coming from a percussion background, I could probably stay on this thing all day and not get tired of it. Also, fun baseline to play with: 66816,34816,20480,74752,35072,20480,74752,34816,20736,74752,34816,20480,75008,34816,20480,8192 Even just editing out from there leaves you with infinite posibilities: 66816,34816,20480,66560,35072,0,66560,34816,256,74752,34816,20480,75008,34816,20480,8192
