I'm sure it can be done, but I can't for the life of me find anywhere to guide/help me do it..

Im wanting to add 2 extra speakers (making 4) to my hedunit (45 X 4)
Im sure it is very very simple to do, but just need a bit of help before doing it.

    thanks :D

are you replacing speakers or making boxes for them/mounting them somewhere?

your head unit has all the wires on the harness, just run wires from the speaker, and conenct it to the harness (solder, or connect with crimp terminals)

if you get component speakers YOU NEED an amp, if not then ya, just dont bump it too loud, because its 45wx4 PEAK, which means nothing in the audio world, rms you probly have 10-20 w x4 RMS (which is what you need)

so ya find some low power speakers or they will distort like a bitch

depends on how loud u like ur music.
you can just bridge them.... but with doing that its going to cause more resistance and its not going to be as powerful.

in which case it shouldnt have too many problems powering them as long as they are not specialists etc.....
most head units should be able to power at least 4 speakers!

Pretty much as above, as long as your speakers are efficient, you can hook them up directly to your head unit, and they will run fine.

Most fancy looking high power speakers you can buy for cars however, aren't very effecient, so they won't go very loud from a head unit, since most head units struggle to put out 10w of real power/rms power.

So forget about hooking up the sub to your head unit, I think you're going to need to get a new amp installed. Keep in mind that cheap amps quote bs power figures, feel free to get a few quotes and run it by us or other audio forums.

Oh, and always turn the music down at least one block away from where you are going to park!!!!
