I have a Windows 2000 (Win2K) server with Active Directory (AD) installed on it. In addition I have a number of Linux boxes on which I keep the network user accounts. Is there any way to give the users who log into the Linux boxes access to Shared Folders and Printers on my Win2K server without adding each and ever user to AD? At present the system works for users added to AD who log onto a Windows 98SE client machine, they are given access to the resources as appropriate but i want the users logging onto the Linux domains to be given the same access without any real security at all and without having to add the users to AD. Also Id like to know if I can password the printers like I do when installing them to local mchines. Any thoughts or comments will be very appreciated!!!
enable the guest account and give access to guests on the shared folders/printers and the linux boxes should gain access as guest...tried it out here and it works
