We have a Sky adsl package here now, but the internet speeds are less than decent. And the setup seems a bit annoying. Basically our old setups broadband router setup was below my room, so everything was setup perfect in their. Nobody was on wireless, nice speeds etc. Now we're on this Sky, you have the adsl router in the TV room (other side of the house now) so... at the moment i'm probably looking at wireless + bad speeds. Sigh. Just wondering if any knows if its possible for me to get my own broadband, installed in the same place under my room, would be easy surely. ta
Yes you'd need to pay for your own phoneline every month, or alternatively if you have Virgin in your street you could have your own cable link. If local connectivity to the router is the problem, then HomePlug is your solution. I won't wax lyrical about it here because there's LOADS of threads on here about it, but suffice it to say you'll get a connection roughly equivalent to a 100mb network cable and it'll be far far far more reliable and stable than wifi.
Zoon - we were using Virgin before yeah, as a package deal. Now we're on Sky, Adsl, is it possible to get Virgin broadband only?
