I stayed in a hotel recently (and quite a nice one at that) only to come home and find a 50 quid charge on my credit card. I've contacted them about this and they said it was for using/taking home a hotel CD(!?).

I didn't even see any CD's in the damn room! If they refuse to refund this can I just get my credit card company to cancel this charge? It's one of these situations where it's one person's word against another, but they have quite frankly just made this up out of thin air and I'm quite hacked off given how much I paid for the room in the first place. :wallbash:

Call your credit card company and dispute the transaction. You should come up trumps.

When I bought minecraft I was double charged. I sent a few emails to them but got nothing back so I called my credit card company and told them about it. My credit card company told me that because I tried to resolve the issue with minecraft first but got no where that they would reverse the charge.

So assuming the same policy stands, it looks like you have tried to deal with the hotel and got no where so now its time to call the credit card company and get them to help you.

What I want to know is why was there a cd in the room, what was on it and why do they think its worth 50 bucks!

Yep, if it's on a CC then you should be protected. Just tell them it's a false charge, that the hotel aren't doing anything about it/are ignoring you, and that you'd like to chargeback.
