    Hi all,

Just buying the last of my parts for my new build and need some advice.
So far, I have brought the following arts -

    Intel Core i7 930 D0 SLBKP Bloomfield 45nm, 2.8 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail

    6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3, DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.65V

    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2, Intel X58, S1366, SLi/Xfire PCI-E 2, DDR3 2200<, USB3 & SATA 6Gb/s

    Antec 1200

    Samsung F3 1TB

    Samsung CD Drive

So nearly there so far, just need a PSU, video card, mouse, keyboard and some SATA cables for the cd/hdd.

So far, I have selected the following to complete the build:

Arctic Cooling MX-2 High Performance Thermal Compound (it's what arctic use on their Coolers)

Logitech G15 New Rev.2 Gaming Keyboard, USB, Wired, Silver/Black, GamePanel LCD, Illuminated

    850W Corsair TX CMPSU-850TXUK PSU, 80+% eff', SLI/CrossFire, EPS 12V, 140mm Fan, 5 year Warranty

45cm Akasa AK-CB055 Right angle connector SATA II cable inc Latch connector - Red/Black *OEM

Razer Imperator, Gaming Mouse, Black, Laser, 5500dpi, USB £46.80 £54.99

    1280MB EVGA GTX 470, 40nm, 3348MHz GDDR5, GPU 607MHz, Shader 1215MHz, 448 Cores, 2xDVI,mini HDMI

Does that look ok? I want to order the remaining parts tonight, so any advice is much appreciated.

BTW, I have got a Corsair H50 as the cpu cooler and I am looking to overclock and add an additional video card in a year or so time.

pretty high-end build. lots of choices that are...subject to taste, so to each their own. would go with the hx series corsair for the modular cables. i personally wouldn't splash for the 470 unless it's just a super sweet deal. too hot and power hungry. a 460 would be a little on the low-end side for this build, so maybe go with a 6870, or 2 gtx 460's in sli since that is your plan in the long run anyway...

Cheers Trig, I did hear those comments about the 470 so decided to swap over to the 6870. What PSU would you recommend in the HX series? Would a 850w be enough?

I am also looking at adding a TV Tuner at a later stage (will replace TV in bedroom). Anyone have any good success with one within the UK?

    Thanks as always

850 would be more than enough...so would 750 or 650 for that matter. either way it's a good choice...

I never bother with TV tuner cards, just use iPlayer or torrent your favourite tv programs. Much more control that way. And dont get the sweaty 470 GTX, think 6850/6870/460 GTX :) Avoid overkill with the PSU, Corsair 750W modular is all you need.
