my brother is looking to replace his old compaq laptop. the spec is 512mb ram, 30gb hdd, athlon xpm 2000. a good one i found is the acer Aspire 3692WLMi its got, celeron M 420: 1.6ghz. 1gb ram, 80gb hdd, xp:mce. plus a good one was the free upgrade to vista home premium. this is £442, does that sound like a good deal? i thought it was pretty impressive also how will the celeron compare to the athlon xp. if anyone has seen anything they think is better id love to see it.
ok first of all is he going to do any gaming on it? what will he be using it for. whatever he will be using it for don't go for a celeron i mean you can get something better then that. try to at least have a pentium m or turion. other then that it looks fine can't say bad things of acer lappy's either. and if he wants to play games even old ones never settle for integrated graphics. considering they give a vista upgrade u should defenetly reconsider the cpu choice
