    Here's what I'm planning.

    Black Ice Extreme III 1/2"
    3x Panaflow 120mm fans
Laing D5 With PolarFLO TT Series Pump Chrome Conversion Kit
    Danger Den TDX CPU block
Danger Den Maze 4 Chipset block
    Danger Den NV78 GPU block
    ThermoTube 10" reservoir
    Tygon 1/2" hoses

Obviously... plus the other bits and pieces that don't need to be brand specific, like clamps and barbs etc... all mounted in a Lian-Li PC71.

Would this cool a overclocked FX57, NF4 northbridge and 7800GTX nicely? Is this overkill?

Can I mount fans directly onto the rad or do I need some kind of shroud?
Should fans suck air out of the case, thru the rad, and outside, or should they do the opposite (sucking cold air in).

Anything intrinsically wrong with that combination of components?

    Thanks.

Looks ok (but I'm no watercooling expert) might want a low profile or specialist chipset block for the NF4 though, theres not a huge amount of clearance...

I've mounted the fan straight onto this BIX, doesnt seem to be any air leakage and the pressure is good on the reverse side.

As for push/pull, depends on where you mount your rad. But if you suck air through the case, remeber its going to the that much warmer than "outside" air. Case cooling, especially since you are watering everything shouldnt be as much of a concern, so just have the fans blowing/sucking air into the case.
Doesnt really matter whether you have the fans in push or pull config, shoudnt notice a massive temp difference

(sure someone who knows what they are are on about will rubbish this but meh :p)

nice setup and will cool the spec you listed nicely allowing silence and overclocking.go for it.its never overkill, just more overclockability. ;)

Assuming that heat is your barrier, of course.
I have hit the wall due to RAM/CPU/motherboard limitations...never once because of heat issues.
Slamming a waterloop onto a system is no guarantee of even one MHz more overclockability.

Should be OK. Getting a DFI NF4 DL.. no problems there... I already have 2Gb of Ballistix, should be good for 300MHz or close.... looking on target for 3.2GHz at least I'd say. It's not ALL about overclocking either... I'm sick of fan noise.. then the fact that it's just cool. I'd still do it anyway even if it didn't overclock... well.. probably not a BIX 3, but I'd still do it.

As for airflow inside teh case, it should be similar, if not better than I have now. There will be 3x 120 fans pulling air thru the rad (admittedly warmer than ambient, but still sufficient), there will be the PSU, which will be almost directly over the RAM chips on a DFI NF4, there are the case fans on the PC71 itself, which will be modded to 120... should be more than enough.
