I don't know which one of these two cards to buy either. (I live in EU and my local prices are $240 for PRO and $250 for UD4) First I was recommended ASRock P67 Extreme4 which only cost $200 but the place where I wanted to buy doesn't sell it because it's "too faulty and breaks too much". The guy also repairs hardware so he should know... Since I'm having computer built (and fully tested) by that store I'm learning towards PRO. It seems to offer more than UD4 for less money and I've also found lost of posts from people complaining about GA and how crappy it is so they're even here. There's the ASUS BIOS problem, yeah.. but that should be fixed, right?
I've always had Asus boards and never had a single problem with any of them. Have to say if I move to SB I will find it hard to give up my Maximus III Formula... Having seen a lot of people having issues with the Asus P67 boards I really am tempted to try GB... if nothing else for the experience of owning a different manufacturer's board. So interested in people's experiences with the UD4 and UD7.
I have the UD7, I built my new PC this week, and it is impressive. I was torn between the P8P67 pro , Maximus 4 and UD7 before ordering, but the reviews for the UD7 made it clear that the UD7 was the better board - the Maximus RoG doesn't even have 2x16x PCI-E slots - meaning if you want SLI, both GPU's run at 8x, not 16x like the GB board - and the RoG board costs a good £40 more, why! Are Asus cynically relying on people to blindly buy overpriced boards just because they sport the ‘RoG’ tag – yet this particular gamers’ board does not run 2xGPU at full 16x speed – for £300! I was nearly taken in, until I read some in depth reviews.. The UD7 so far, has been solid, clocked the i7 2600k to 4.6GHz very easily - even for me, a relative technophobe! (even though the BIOS interface is 'old school'), it runs my SSD as it should run, no problems with memory recognition, it has more than enough USB 2 and 3 headers - and the board itself is very solid and heavy. If the UD4 is anything like this, I don't think it would disappoint. I am sure the Asus board if fine, but for me, I have had just one too many bad experiences with mid to high end boards (over a 10 year period). There is nothing worse than looking forward to a new build and finding you have a dud mobo, and then having to wait several days for the RMA process – this is what was going through my mind when choosing the components for my new PC.
Deluxe man! It's got tons of goodies in the box! http://techinstyle.tv/blogs/unboxing-asus-p8p67-deluxe-motherboard/ $330 is crazy money for a UD4.
Yes, but if the sabertooth p67 follows the path of its predecesor, it should be a monster and cheaper than the deluxe(but it has a front panel USB3 ^^'). Anyway, at the begining i wasn't planning on spending U$S 300 in a motherboard, as the asus PRO is enough for me... AAgghhh!!!!! come on bit-tech, hurry up with those reviews...!!!!! I think i'm going crazy -_-
