I need some help please -

My nieces PC crashed and I'm trying to recover data from her C partition which is a NTFS partition. I've hooked up her HD to my system and can see the FAT32 partition without problem.

In Disk Management when I right click on the NTFS partition I only get options to Delete Partition or Help, others are greyed out so I can't assign a drive letter.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried running chkdsk on the partition as it might be damaged?

I can't see the partition at all and can't assign a drive letter. Couldn't boot off it either (even in Safe Mode).
