2 512mb PC3200 sticks would be the best, however your CPU is only running 533 fsb so I wouldn't worry about it too much. PC3200 is mostly for 800fsb CPUs,

The thing is the P4 CPUs which your celeron is based on need a large cache to stay competative in performance. It's just due to how they are designed. The celeron uses a really small amount of cache to be cheaper but that cripples it and so to get any proper performance out of it you need a LOT of memory bandwidth, so the faster your memory is the better.

Go ahead with your PC2100 and see how you like it. I wouldnt be supprised if you dont notice much difference so it's probably not worth the effort spending out just yet.

I'd still recomend either the Asus P4P800 / P4C800 series or the Abit IC7.

    Current Motherboard

:sigh: I have looked at the motherboards that have been mentioned, but there is a problem that they all have 5 PCI slots, the current motherboard only has 3. :sigh:

 This link will take you through to a picture of the current motherboard.

:read: If I read things right this mean that I shall have to by a new case to put one of the aforementioned motherboards in.

Doesnt matter, unless your case can only hold a motherboard with 3 PCI slots (micro ATX), one with 5/6 is called a full ATX.

You will need to reinstall your OS, whatever mind.

Sounds like you've got a matx board and maybe case? In that case go for the Asus P4P800-vm which is the micro atx version of the boards I mentioned.
