@Zero_UK, I got all my prices from scan and the XFX 5870 wasn't cheaper when i looked, i agree the P6T is a better board but i thought the more money spare the better and the p6t is a good board although it doesn't offer SLI support without a patched bios. The case that i forgot to add was the coolermaster cosmos s.

They are great books :D New one coming out this year... but thats off topic really ;)

I will probably end up buying the whole rig from scan as its just easier to get from one place and I trust scan.

I'll be honest though, most of Garth Nix's other stuff doesnt do it for me!

Have alook at Lian Hearn's The Otori Trilogy, they are awesome!

go 720 and stick the savings in the bank

in 2 years swap out the video card and upgrade with the cash you saved.

Okay well its order time this week and the build I am looking at is as follows:

    Case:Antec 1200 £117.37
    CPU:Intel Core i7 930 - £232.85
    Mobo:pT6 Deluxe. £214.05
    RAM:Corsair GB XMS3 - £119.98
    CPU Cooler:Titan Fenrir - £29.35
    GPU:XFX 5870 - £308.81
    HDD:1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 - £60.17
    Optical drive:LG 22x DVD-WR - £16.67
    PSU:Corsair HX750 - £112.55
    OS:Windows 7 64bit - £81.16

    Total: £1292.96 inc VAT

Minus any specials on the day (Tuesday most likely) and plus delivery. Although having said that do scan do free delivery still if your a member of this forum? It seems to have gone ages ago along with all their other free delivery offers (had one at another forum).

Any last minute changes anyone reccomends or anything im missing in particular? I was hoping to get VAT off however just talked to accountant and I am on a scheme that means I cant get VAT off unless the order is over £2000 inc VAT, I was toying with going the whole hog and spending 2000 but really cant justify the extra cost over the savings.

[EDIT] Also another thought is are scan the best people to go with? I have been buying parts of them for the best part of 4 years now and they have great customer service and i am more than happy with them but is there an alternative (cheaper maybe ;)) that is equally as good? Have also used dabs and novatech who are also both good, but they dont do everything i'd like.
