This was fun, was going to fit the induction kit from my old car onto my Saab to free up some flow. induction kits a no go owing to how Saab mounted the MAF as part of the airbox. But turns out my car has done this to its airfilter

So its trying to eat it clearly. Anyone else had this before? Its a Pipercross one an ive bunged a paper filter in for the time being.

Huh. I've never seen that before. Okay, no expert, but.

Yeah, I'd send Pipercross a picture and see what they say.

I'm curious to see the induction kit if the MAF is part of the airbox. Does it come with a new mounting for it on some custom pipework?

The more I think about it, the more it reminds me of when a sponge touches acetone. Maybe something got in and reacted with the foam?

Looks like it needs a diamond mesh grille on the intake side like the TVR speed six filters.
K&N one would probably stay in shape better due to not being foam I'd have thought?

Does indeed note the black box on the pipework near the strut mount

Yeah the K&N would be a better bet, im going to see though if I can just get the pipe which would mean I can use my own kit
