Air Show

Just in case anyone is interested I thought Id mention that there is an air show in my town (Southend, SE Essex) on Sunday and Monday (29th & 30th).

Its supposed to be the biggest in Europe. Theres usually about 20-30 planes and things each day and stalls/displays all along the road next to the beach.

Its a bit of a chavfest but fun as a social event all the same.

Cool Air shows are fantastic, I can usually see a lot of RAF Cosford's show from my garden

I thought the RIAT was the biggest air show in Europe though

 

I went to Fairford last year, was a great experience, thoroughly recommended.

 

I second RIAT at Fairford, fantastic day....I went 2002 I think.

 

Yeah RIAT is the biggest, with a few hundred planes and many displays, saw the Eurofighter there in 2003, beautiful plane, like a mini vulcan class day out even if your not into planes, loadsa fun stuff today, and because I went as a cadet got to go in some of the planes n drink booze with the american pilots

When I went, the Eurofighter broke down so didn't fly....happened a few times at various shows IIRC.
