Morning guys...(here in the US anyways).. I've been looking for more info on airtraps for watercooling (after reading joe's article on procooling, looks like something good to invest in). Everyone is talking about cooling-solutions airtrap, but there isn't any other info that I could find on the topic. Anyone have any links on where to buy/make one? Looks to be a simple tube, but I'm not sure if theres anything else that needs to be done..

Thanks for the info Havoc..I just wanted to make sure. The only thing i really need to know is if i wanted to make one similar to cooling-solutions..would it have to be sealed, or would the top of the tube need to be vented..so that the air can escape?
I hope that made sense :sigh:

I'm going to make my air trap this weekend with an empty bottle of beer. Your tube should be sealed at the trop otherwise water will evaporate...

After thinking about it I figured that it should be sealed..thanks guys! Yeah i would think that evaporation would be a problem, and introducing "new air" into the system would bring in more bacteria etc.. Sealed it is. Hopefully home depot will carry something i can use to make this..

what are u lookin for?...u wont find an air trap @ home depot but u can make one...get some acrylic and some clear epoxy and go to petsmart (or something like it ) and get a "gravel cleaner" from the fish section. should be a large tube of arcylic...just chop it in half, seal up the ends with the epoxy and acrylic u bough (cut the acrylic sheet into 2 circles) and cut some holes in the tube for barbs...yes dont forget ur barbs @ homedepot...seal up the barbs and AWAY U gO! hopefully have some pics of mine by the weekend..

1/2 barbs...they didn't have, epoxy for acrylic..ran out, no acrylic, drill bit for the barb...ran out

    Like i said...a dump :D

I went to a pet store and found some plastic tubes used for aquarium tanks. I wasn't too crazy about them, so this weekend I'm gonna head to a hydroponics store that is close to here..

Ok guys I purchased a 6' piece of blue acrylic tubing from tap plastics:
    http://www.tapplastics.com/plastics/rods/417_colortube.html

They are going to cut it into 7 - 10 inch pieces for me. They will also send me 14 - 2 inch discs to glue to the tops and bottoms. I also ordered a bottle of weld-on #16 to glue the ends.

Since I won't need all 7 pieces, would any of you guys want to buy 5 of them from me? (with 2 discs each). I think they would make excellent airtraps..all you would need are a couple of barbs.

YOu could use a normal bleeder valve like is used in plumbing. They are desgned to constantly vent any gas that forms in the loop to the outside air thus preventing bubbles.
