iç think a 3000 mc wil do the trik anything between the 1000 and 3000 the higher you go the focused they get lower the more spread the lighting is
That is frikkin sweet.... I was gonna just paint my fans blue but I'll just use those for the 80mm ones instead...I'll paint the others...

for all Belgians out here, you can order'em for 14€ (even cheaper than the US price) at http://www.colorcases.be
The akasa fans are going for 4.95 on ebay.co.uk but plus 2.50 P+P still good value. i got a couple i will be unflashying them tho by replacing the LEDs.
i just bought one of the akasa flashing blue LED fans to fit in my window blowhole. i too was unaware that they flashed when i ordered them, and when i tested it (couldnt mount it cos i dont have screws long enought to hold it thru 7mm acryllic) i found the unsynched stobe effect pretty cool, but the positioning less so. the worst thing i think is the fact that they are clearly visible, so i peeled the sticker off the other side and put it over the side with the LEDs in... unfortunately they still shine thru, but once i paint the plastic with silver paint (for reflectiveness) and then replace the sticker over the top of that it should look a bit better so... anyone have any ideas: a) where i can get 3/4" fan screws (pref. silver) b) what kind of paint would be most reflective (on the painted surface)
hmm.. having thought about it a bit, maybe the paint wont be necessary if i use a grille that has the centre part covered. i spotted the "roswell" grille at overclock.co.uk http://www.overclock.co.uk/moreinfo.php?id=722 and i think those little slitty alien eyes might look pretty cool if flashing blue still no luck finding long fan screws tho...
wow that grill is fantastic! for the screws, try any hardware shop i guess - not really anything special, and they will have longer sizes
yeh! best bet would get someone to buy if for you (like someone in the UK, perhaps me...) and post it to you, would work out cheaper i guess
well, i found an online supplier of 3/4" fan screws too http://www.thecoolingshop.co.uk/tcs/comersus_listcategoriesandproducts.asp?idCategory=6
