I was doing some work on my AK which required removing the wood stock (a b**** of a job) among other things so i figured i might aswell go all out while i'm at it. There are plenty of AK field strip videos on YouTube but not much about complete disassembly so here you go. This is my AK-63F, which is the hungarian version of the bog standard AKM base model rifle, produced virtually the same way with the exact same parts count in all AK countries. There are an additional 8 parts in the buttstock but i couldn't be bothered with those (buttplate screws won't come out with the ammount of force i'm comfortable with applying) and i hate taking the rear sight leaf off (2 parts) so those are missing if you're trying to count all the bits. First off here are some pics of my baby in her full glory: And now for the disassembly: Excuse the cleaning kit (above the buttstock), forgot to take those away before i took the picture. Any questions welcome.
My questions are why do you have this and where can I get one in the US? Cool disassembled picture though.
I'm an addict. If you want one in the USA then you're looking for a SA-85M (semi-auto version for sports use) SA-85Ms typically don't come with a threaded muzzle and if they're not pre-ban then they will also come without a bayonet lug and have a thumbhole stock (can be replaced).
Having experience with RK62 (Finnish variant) on full auto, I'd say he shoots just about everything within 90 degrees from where he's aiming. The recoil is... how to put it... ****ing epic. On semi-auto it's nice and accurate.
+1 in what Jipa said. A great gun in semi, but next to useless on full auto unless you're standing right next to the proverbial barn door.
Nope. But James is only here when he isn't on missions for MI5. I shouldn't have told you that. OH SHI--
THUD! Srsly, it's fun but hardly accurate. Tough, robust? Sure. But by no means a rodent gun. For that you need to speak to my man, Eugene.
Well, that is seriously dependant on 2 things. Where you hit, and how big a sissy you hit. It's not known for it's accuracy or for it kenetic stopping. It's an akm after all. Not an AK. 2 different beasts.
Not seriously dependent, but yes, it does vary. It'll drop most animals in their tracks, and most humans too.
