I think that ALL of these cases have a nice design/ layout to them. I know some are harder to see with the images, but I think if they are looked at with an open eye. Many people can see why these in particular made the top design list.

Thats right, I only want one for personal use. I really like the sleek design, and want to model my design for my HTPC to reflect the_gnu's case's qualities (to a point, im not ripping off his idea entirely, i just wanted to use a couple of his very nice looking ideas for it.)

That is fine, I am sure he would be willing to help you get some design ideas, it just came off a bit like you wanted to use the entire design to do your own HTPC system. A little "off-key" when a company is looking to possibly utilize the design for their key branding pc. :)

I don't blame you for thinking that. I guess I should have thought out my words more thuroughly. I would have done the same thing if I was in your position.

The poll is closed here @ bit-tech. It closed a bit early, but that was my mistkae for the settings. It however does show us clearly some forerunners. I will be going through the remainder votes on other forums and we will be reviewing them. We will be announcing and contacting the final 5 within 24hours to go over any details etc... before prototype builds begin.

Quick question: Do the top 5 build or the top 3 or what?

Another quick question I just thought of:

Could we buy one of these cases from Alchemy as a empty case we could outfit with parts at home? That could make the company more money, as it would appear to people who want to build the whole computer themselves, offering just the case or a full computer package.

Joungnes design is simply amazing. Any case companies out there need to be paying attention and grab Joungne immediately.

Making a cube is a lot easier then making a curved case. but then if theyre reimbursing for outsourced labour aswell then he should be able to get it done making sure that his dimensions are correct which is the toughest thing.

I'm also very interested in seeing the worklogs for some of these prototypes. The thing is, I recognize that many of these cases CAN be prototyped, but they need to be constructed such that they can be consistently and easily manufactured. If each case has to be constructed by hand, the costs per case might become prohibitive.

The cases chosen to be in the top five have been chosen as such since they are relatively manufacturable. We as a computer company are "snagging up" these designs and will be choosin ght best of the designs as our own for that reason.

These cases will unforutnately be for sale from alchemy computer systems. The cases chosen to represent our company will however, be for sale as a system fro ACS.
