Teaser Trailer: Here. Featurette (pretty cool): Here. Synopsis: Every 1000 years, 5 teenage Predators are sent to Earth to fight Aliens. If they survive, they get to go back home (yes, AvP is a coming-of-age drama ). Oh, and scientists with guns get stuck in the middle and it's set on Antarctica. Who do you think will win? Personally: Alien vs. Predator (without weapons) = Easy win for Alien. Alien vs. Predator (with weapons) = Not a fight, a slaughter. Anyway, here's hoping Paul W.S. Anderson redeems himself after the atrocious Resident Evil.
I just watched the trailer and it looks sweet! I must say im not a huge fan of either franchise but it still looks great! Gonna have to see that!
Sweet. Looks like it's based on a mixture of the books The Yautje from Prey and the Antartic thing from that other one... *n
I have been waiting for this for sooo long! Only dissappointment is this whole teenage ritual thing. Sounds like a really poor plot device. They should have let real fans help with the script. Lets hope it doesn't turn into another phantom menace, or that they don't put people like vin diesel in it.
Spoiler warning ... Right well heres the apparant general plot given by www.movies.com Scientists try to lure Predators to Antarctica by using Alien eggs as bait. Predictably, plans go even further south than the icy continent. As the two species battle, humans find themselves caught in the middle and becoming casualties. And the cast (so far): Starring: Lance Henriksen, Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Boya, Ewan Bremner Looks okay! Only time will tell! Movies.com article -A-
Re: Re: Spoiler warning ... Think you're talking about the legendary Yul Brynner (he's dead). Ewen Bremner is the Trainspotting Scot.
http://www.aint-it-cool-news.com/display.cgi?id=16395 AICN script review, sounds like a real crap script for what should be a excellent film opportunity. Paul Anderson directing so I'm trying not to get any expectations of it being watchable.
If you haven't noticed already, Paul Anderson also wrote the script. Don't these studio bosses ever learn?
imo, its gonna blow... The plot sounds like cr*p and it doesnt make much sense... For one, why were predators hunting humans in the first movies? And they shouldve known about aliens in the alien movie if they had encountered them on earth before.... someone feel free to correct me, its been a while since ive watched any movie from either franchise... Anyways, i think they shouldve stuck to the plot of the first (or even second) AvP game and told it from the marine perspective. That wouldve been good.
bHawk - you read any of the AVP books? The basic premise of the Predators is that they live for the hunt...Hard Meat (Aliens) are their usual quarry and are 'seeded' on planets. 'Soft meat' (humans or 'oomans if you're a pedant...) are considered the hardest foe on account of our ability to use weapons... The first Predator film concerned an older, more experienced Predator which had gone to Earth to hunt humans. *n
Well I finally watched Predator 2 last night on Channel 5 and in the scene where they are on the Predator ship there is definity an Alien skull. So the story of the Predators creating the Alien race to give them more challenge hunting makes sence. However in the first Alien movie the humans ecounter the Aliens in the future, but both Predator 1 & 2 are set in the present day. And in Predator 2 one of the Predator's gives Danny Glover a musket from the 1700s which suggests the predators ship has been underground for 300 years meaning that they created and killed Alien's many years before the humans encounter them in the first Alien movie. Anyone care to explain this to me?
Does it need explaining? I don't see any paradoxes there, just cause us 'oomans didn't discover the Aliens until the future doesn't mean they can't have been around for a v long time. Indeed in the first Alien movie 'Alien' The crashed ship of yet another alien race that the crew discover on LV426 appears to have been there a very long time, the 'stargazer' has definitely been dead for a while.
I simply can not wait for this film to come out. I love predator. I hope it will be as good as it should be. A race known as the navigators (i think) made the aliens, i think i read that on ign because another 2 alien films are planned, and the race that mad them plants the eggs on earth any way as far as im concerend predator stumbled upon them when on a planet. As far as the 300 year old thing goes, to me it simply means that Predators have been coming to earth for many many centuries, and i think there are actualy two alien skulls on the ship, one is a drone and the other one is one of the bigger aliens with a big crest on its head. Thats what i thought ne ways.
If you've read the Alien books (not the film ones...The later ones Prey, Nightmare Asylum, Music of the Spears et cetera) then you'll know that the 'trunked' skeleton on the ship in the first film is one of the race of beings that created the Aliens... I think it's explained in Earth Hive. *n
