Uh oh! I better spend my balance quick.

P.S. The Russian Multimedia and Internet Society is known as ROMS not RMIS.

    I hear you.

It will be a sad day when the site is pulled down. Wonder how many allofmp3.com customers will just revert to peer2peer software for their music after it happens?

wouldnt they be better off trying to make it legit rather than just pull it down? By the sounds of things the site has tried to be legit and its russian law thats at fault.

I'm ashamed to say that I've never heard of this site! Was it a pay download site? If it was just another site where you got crappy 128k MP3s from, who cares anyway?

afaik, it was a site where you could download albums for a few quid at whatever bitrate you specified. Quite popular!

Yes. And you could specify filetype, bitrate, etc. Like 3-4 hundred kbps Mp3, Ogg I think, and a few others. Apologies if I'm wrong, I havent used them much.

    Worth remembering...

This is basically a site selling stolen goods. Anyone that's dumb enough to leave their credit card details with a with a bunch of hoods that make their money out of a deceitful practise (they don't pay for this music you know - just charge and keep the cash!) is not really as smart as they pretend!

Incidentally legal sites easyMusic.com and Wippit have MP3s from 25p and 29p respectively, but at least they pay the artists!

as i'm sure the other members here can verify, we've never had problems.

Doesn't matter, there will be another site to take your money and sell you music the next day. I find it amusing that the the music companies are going after the sait and by extention their customers, you know, the last few people who actually are willing to pay for music!

No problems here either. tbh, I was a bit hesitant when I first started using them, but the ability to pay via PayPal reassured me a little.

Not bad, certainly better than i[ripoff]Tunes!
As I said above, musicmp3.ru is another site I've been using for roughly the same time as allofmp3, and again havn't had any problems...

The problem is not with the content they provide, it's with the fact that under russian law they can resell it where as under uk law they can't, which they politely put in there terms and conditions stateing that it's your reponceability to check that what you download is leagal in your country (or something similiar)

I guess it's kinda like buying pirate DVD's from that dodgy guy in tesco car park, you pay your £3 and you get a dvd, your not being ripped off per say as you got exactly what you were expecting, but you still didn't legally purchase the media content and the record lables/ film companies didn't make any money.

Would you trust the guy in tesco car park with your credit card? I know I certainly wouldn't!

It's a question of morals really are you in the right because you paid for it? or are you in the same possition as if you'd not paid to download it from some other p2p network.

No, this isn't "basicly" selling stolen goods. So many people repeatedly try to simply these sorts of things be likening it to thievery or stealing. It's not, just stop it. Are they breaching copyright law? No, not in their country, it's already been proved that thats the case in the Russian courts.

Many, many people use allofmp3, and I've never heard of a single person getting ripped off, they're not some small group of amaturish operators, they're running a succesfull and high income business, and they run it pretty professionally.

I hope that allofmp3 continue to exist, companies like them are resulting in music lovers across the world being able to actually not get ripped off, but still are able to get a decent service and get the music they want.

I just wish itunes had the same download options as allofmp3.com that might tempt me to use them. it satisfies both those people that require top quality and those that want to stick as many songs as possible on the mp3 play. Wish some uk companies would learn from it.
