I have a new XP2100+ and a Alpha PAL8094 and the fan is sucking at the moment and it's temp is 40 would turning the fan round and have it blow bring down the temps?
Best thing to do is just to try it m8! You can always change it back again. Mine is sucking as it happens and theoretically this should be optimal with efficient case airflow. Besides, the manual thingy tells you to put the fan on so it sucks, but try them both all the same!
Alpha recommend that you suck the air away form the heatsink rather than blow through. However the optimal may depend on your case and equipments flow charateristics. I say run the test like Jamie stated Here is a link to Alpha that shows they indicate the HSF in Expulsion (sucking) has a better thermo coeffecient that blowing. 28C/W vs 32/CW.
Exactly Lazy, I'm working on a air box for that now. If that fails I will duct it straight out the side of the window.
stay with sucking...i tried out both, and unless you have a blowhole right above it(which you can turn around aswell) it will give u a 2-3deg improovement to blowing...
