So I thought I would post these up to give you all a chuckle. In the recent Amazon Day sales I picked up a warehouse Z170 impact board for about £78 in "Used - Like new". Its finally arrived (I only brought it last Monday) and I opened the box to find that none of the accessories or back plate present (with the exception of stickers, cd and warranty gumpf). On examining the board there are a lot of things wrong with it. Spoiler Internet win points for each one you find.
PCI-E Slot is well borked... looks like someone tried to rip the card out of the slot... Looks like the board is gouged around one of the mounting holes Fluid Leak around the CPU socket The Wifi card appears to not be there [else you'd see the antennae connectors poking out]
Yep! 4 Internets points to you! Still some more to find but a bit more difficult now. That was a good one I thought that was almost impossible to see.
You gotta wonder why the mounting screw is missing for the VRM board - have you taken it off for a looksee?
Oh that's what that is... I thought it was one of the Mobo mounting holes... and they'd taken a gouge out of the board overtightening...
Is the discolouration around the Nuvoton chip solder damage or the coolant leak previously mentioned? Hard to tell but are some of the ATX pins mangled? Battery cable but that might damaged, but it also could just be TIM. Something is up with the B1 DIMM pins Already mentioned the pins within the PCI-E, but it looks like some of the bus resistors (or are they capacitors?) might be damaged or missing hard to tell. I might even go so far as to say heat damage in the area.
Coolant Thats TIM More Coolant Thats more TIM I didn't notice those but yep look damaged. Plenty of Internets points for you.
