There was - the HD6xxxx range if I remember rightly. These, presumably, will be RX6xxx

Because every now and then you have to hire new people to count, and apparently they need to start from scratch again because numbers are hard.

Aye there were ATi Radeon HD6000's.

Edit: Actually I think they may have been AMD branded by then. (?)

Technically they were the HD 6xxx line but yes. They were also the last of the Terrascale/non-HSA cards.

Yeah, the 6xxx series was the first AMD branded ones I think.

They did have the HD 5xxx series too but that was ATi branded AFAIK.

I had 5870, the top dog card of 5000 series that wasn't a dual-GPU. Then AMD released 6870 that was slower than 5870 and made 6900 series their highest end. Despite this, my card's resale value dropped below 6870. As you can tell, I'm still bitter about it to this day.

Yes, it was already rumored that the AMD cards will be available around mid-November and AIB cards towards the end of November. Let's hope it isn't like the 3080 and 3090 launches and we can actually buy a GPU and get it delivered within this Millenium.

You don't need to actually sell cards to boost your share price...

At least they attempting to combat bots and bulk buying to try and prevent scalping.

We'll have to see how effective that is.

I thought it was funny seeing all the articles saying "AMD doing it's best to combat bots", but AMD themselves aren't doing anything, other than playing captain obvious and sending an open letter on how you could possibly stop them.

Well apparently their 3070 competitor is quite a bit faster and obviously has to cost the same or less. So either way Nvidia have at least done something decent here in their fear.

I reckon the 6900XT will be up there with the 3090 and the XTX could possibly be their Titan card. Wow. I never thought I would see the day where AMD could get away with that.

DLSS is their biggest enemy now. They desperately need something to compete with that. To me that is the most impressive part of the RTX series. It's brilliant. It can make the unplayable totally playable.

There's no point in AMD having a Titan like card, as thats pro-sumer and all current pro-sumer API's are Nvidia CUDA dependant...

If it's faster than the 3070 then I'd be absolutely amazed if it was significantly cheaper. Why would AMD cut their own throat like that when people have shown that they will pay for performance? Sure, it would be great if everything was cheaper, but if AMD can sell all of their stock at 3070 prices, why would they sell all of their stock at a lower price? AMD are a business, not a charity, and just because they are seen as the underdog doesn't mean that they'll sell for less than they could (and in fact, positioning yourself as a "budget" brand in a two-horse race is probably a pretty poor marketing strategy).

And the usual disclaimers apply: let's see what the actual performance and actual pricing is. And the actual availability.

Edit: added availability to the list of "actuals" :)

From what I've read the 'xtx' IS the 6900xt. The chip names for the Navi 21 variants are xtx, xt and xl which will be the 6900xt, 6800xt and 6800 respectively.
