Less than an i3, similar performance and a GPU built in 2-3x as fast?

I think you have failed to grasp the concept of this product.

agree on the separate channel idea. prices are a bit off though, i can get 8Gb 1600 ddr3 for £24 and my 8Gb 2133 ddr3 cost me £36 delivered. from large online retailer too. although i did sell my 6Gb 1600 ddr3 triple channel for £35 and used the money to offset my 8Gb 1600 ddr3 samsung green which set me back £48. some stores are being really slow at passing on the reduced prices of ram so it does check to shop around.

Let's just be clear here: any number printed on a motherboard or product page is just marketing. Every company will strive to put the fastest possible on it to make them appear faster. The real capacity lies within the CPU IMC though.

Antony - can you do a memory scaling article and see if other boards can hit 2400-2600? And whether latency has an affect because many memory kits now are dropping CL11 rather than CL9.

If not I'll see if we can do something here cause I'm interested :p /raids the ROG labs for 3GHz mem sticks.

@Bindi, cpu performance doesn't scale much with ram speed, the gpu part however is a different story and scales pretty well. No idea about lower latency, most of my ram acts up if I push the latency down.

Why would two slot be an issue ? You still can use dual-channel and 2x 4GB is more than enough ^^

1866 looks like a sweet spot, most 1600 kits will do this, but performance does keep rising, if u oc the gpu it will probably help even more

I came to BT to read this review...
What a lame review, seriously... 1 game benchmark?!
I have almost no idea how fast this GPU/CPU is when compared to others on the market.
