nah but u need a mobo that supports multiplier changes. Yours doesn't. You maybe want to look into a normal barton2500+. Your mobo will read it correctly without having to mess with multiplier settings and you can still o/c to 3200+ speeds off air easy. Plus, they are cheaper!

Both the 2500M and 2600M will do 200FSB without even blinking an eye (yes some 2600's are better than some 2500's and vice versa, but thats down to the individual steppings)

Buy the cheeper of the two.

As for doing 200MHz on default voltage then it depends on what core spped you run (ie multiplier x FSB) if you are only aiming for 2200 (XP3200 speed) then you might be lucky with default voltage, then again maybe not (overclocking is not an exact science, every chip is different, even from the same batch)

And as the others have suggested a mobo with multiplier options would be a much better choice, I would recomend the Abit NF7 (NF7-S) both rev2 as the most stable socket A overclocker at the moment.

that's utter bollocks I'm afraid... bull****ters always get found out.

the voltage inside SiSoft Sandra is only the rated voltage, it's not the actual voltage. Either post up sufficient proof in the form of a CPU-Z screenshot with the serial number in the bottom corner showing or learn to keep quiet.

On the topic, the 2600+ is likely to clock further IMHO.

    get a life.
Calling bigz "gay" is only going to lead you down the road well known as "bannage"
OMG 1111zor look at my o/c 11111 :nono:

that has NO photoshopping, run cpu-z while doing super-PI, then watch cpu after pi has just finished

your full of it mate, even 1.7v is low for 2.5ghz, let alone 1.45v.

ok, back on to your question, as said earlier, your going to need to find a bios that allows multi changing, or buy a new motherboard. The most popular mobos are the Abit NF7-S Rev2, and the DFI Infinity. My nf7-s can do 220fsb stable all day, and about 230+stable on a cold day. DFI Infinitys are known to do over 250, but many are plagued but cold boot problems, and just dieing randomly.
    All out speed = Inifinity
    Stable and reliable = NF7-S Rev2
out of 2500+ or 2600+, its kind of a mixed boat. There are good/bad o/c'ers of both 2500+ and 2600+ flavour. there have been some very good 2600+'s lately however.
    hope thats helps somewhat :thumb:

    you're a troll, you don't deserve a welcome.

It's a 2 minute download, where's your screenshot? Or are you photoshopping? Or maybe you're using MS Paint - kids like you can't afford to pay for photoshop.

A few rules you should consider checking out before you come back - http://forums.bit-tech.net/faq.php

I'll give you a week to memorise them.

DaHoboFest - If you're still undecided as to which chip to buy, please start another thread, I'm sorry that this thread has gone down the pan. :thumb:
