    I wonder this too, AMD must know these chips/products suck, why are they releasing them?

    Actually the 3870 is in line price / performance wise and if you don't plan on overclocking most AMD CPUs are too - especially since the motherboards are usually cheaper.

    i can only seem to get the CPU stable @ 2.4 ish i did have it at 2475mhz for 3days now its no longer desktop stable
    9500
    225 FSB
    1.3125v
    1.3125v
    NB HT 8x (reports CPU-Z 1800mhz with OC)
    1.6ghz HT speed (reports CPU-Z 1800mhz with OC)

    as i am very much so guessing on what i can mess with and limited to an mini typoon Air cooling (keeps it at 50C tho useing upto date core temp) do not think Heat is what is makeing the OC fail as you had the same problem as me soon as you pushed the OC higher it would no longer OC to the Level it was set to before (yours was 2.5 but after OC would only do 2.4 same as me)

    This is how BS the microprocessor market is. Instead of two major microprocessor companies we need 5 or 6!

    In terms of technological ideas AMD and ATI are ahead of Nvidia they just need some products with that raw processing power.

    i readed in german magazine intel scores high with the benches but intel doesnt use real quadcore architecture
    and AMD does.. may they perform lower but look at the Ghz's they only need work on that part.

    i planned to step over to intel but after i think no i keep it on AMD because its my own trusted cpu
    and performs good in my eye's.
