Thank you all for your help!

I've got a problem with my laptop :|. I'm getting ridiculous latency spikes of upto 400,000us? I haven't the slightest clue why it's happening, the laptop is only 2 months old. It was bought brand new off an eBay seller and was sealed etc. I've tried disabling wifi, usb and that but the spikes only seem to happen sometimes, regardless of whether usb or wifi etc is disabled.

For example, I could be playing a game in 3D through the HDMI on my TV, AND have Winamp playing music at the same time and I won't experience any spikes or anything. But then sometimes, like right now, I'll be doing a simple task like listening to music/watching videos on youtube and I'll experience a ridiculously high surge (364k right now).

What the hell is going on!

    Thank you :D

No idea regards the laptop but as far as the desktop goes, It would be silly to get another 939 chip right now when you can get an Athlon II 250 + Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 + 2GB of Corsair for under £100 :)

I still use my 939 rig for most things (X2 3800+ @ 2.7GHz) although my E8400 HTPC obliterates it in nearly everything!.

    I wouldn't bother upgrading a 939 system, it's far cheaper to get a new CPU/Mobo/DDR3 setup.
