    ..this is why you should NEVER purchase the first batch of new design hardware.

    Just be patient and let others be the Beta testers, I've learnt my lesson the hard way.

    So they glue-gunned it to reduce (but not remove) resonance? Is that what their customers deserve? I think potential customers would want to hear that they had "overhauled the pump" or perhaps "upgraded key components". Great PR job AMD!

    Interesting link. So an AMD whiner got so furious with the noise that he dismantled his card!

    It does seem that the noise is caused by a combination of coil resonance, badly applied glue and component contact with the pump cover.

    A simple solution might be to insert some soft dampening material between the pump cover and pump.

    Does Fury X really need WC setup? Is it running so hot that those 3rd party air coolers wouldn't handle it?

    It's not just the heat that's the reason for WC, if you keep temperatures down you get less current leakage and that gives you the option to use less power or have more performance, basically it gives you more headroom.
