    Interesting development from AMD of course, hedging your bets is not a bad thing.

    Hmmm solution looking for a problem? Appears to be more of a cost cutting exercise for AMD than a massive benefit for anyone else.

    But maybe this will herald in a new era of compatibility and longevity in CPU sockets... well apart from Intel that is.

    Interesting. Perhaps we will finally be able to get our hands on some ARM stuff that is actually capable of being used to build cheap ultra low power home severs. As much as AMD and some others like to talk about ARM for storage servers what is currently 'available' is either impossible to buy or more expensive than x86-64 components.
