nnnaaa we will have kettles for years

you cant makie a pot noodle as a pot noodle (if you dont have them in america) is a plastic pot that has dired noodles with powdered flavouring in that you pour hot water inot & the kettle is the quickest way to do it, boiling onthe hob takes forever

even tho every home ash a microwave (we have 3 in our house) the kettle will stay with us for ages

we have the roman noodles in the cup, just like what you are describing. You just pour warm (or cold) water from the tap, stick in the microwave for a minute, and it's dome :)

What exactly is your perception of 'kettle'? Simply a vessel with a 'pour spout' to boil water with? Or something else? I've always lived around that kind of kettle. Would seem odd to not have one. My lineage is mostly Irish and English though.

Hrm... I've got a 1400 Watt (or so) microwave that cooks most things toward the low end of package directions. Stove still boils water faster.

    :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: silly people.
(actually tea time in my house is the evening meal and we have it when it is ready.)
and the reason people use kettles to boil water is because its a hell of a lot faster than sticking it in abig pot. once its boiled then you put it in the pot. you dont cook the rice in the kettle

That might explain why it is such a pain to get it into the spout.
