It's actually pretty sensible, once you've fixed the error - press F1 to confirm. How else will the computer know you've plugged the keyboard back in?
It pauses before it intialises the keyboard, if it just ran without the keyboard you might have to reboot before it would work. Seems a little silly first time you see it i guess.
I thought you should never plug a PS/2 device in while the PC is running? And that's probably a 486 or some old stuff then. You have to remember, after a while manufacturers stop updating the BIOS, very logical.
I've never heard that before..I do it all the time. Win98 and 2K didn't like it much, but WinXP lets you plug and unplug mice/keyboards from the PS/2 without any problems.
my ps/2 keyboard is always re plugged in wile comp is running your prob thinking of old serial connectors
Lol those messages means the manufacturer hasn't spent thousands on getting microsoft to test their drivers. Proof that MS doesn't even test it's own software!
Even if there is a keyboard error, it doesn't have to mean that the keyboard isn't present. It could just be telling you that the left windows-key isn't working or something. Or maybe the num lock LED is broken.
yea the fact was the drivers are built into XP so in essence.. XP isn't tested to see if it's compatible with.. well itself.
