Any plans to polish the exterior? You could get a mirror finish out of it pretty easily. Just make sure to coat it with a protectant afterward so it doesn't oxidize.

What do you recommend? It really has some scratches that I would love to get rid of.

Not sure where you live, but Autosol and a high pile microfiber cloth would work wonders. As for protectant, any automotive paint sealant will work.

Genius idea :D, specially all the features like the lever popping up and light intensity dial etc, definitely takes it to next level. Lets just hope none of your friends/family ever try to jam some bread in there lol.

Sh*t on toast, dude. Quite literally.

That has to be one of the best mods I've seen in a long time and I think actually defines what a mod/scratch should be. Some of these "watercooled parts in a case" jobs (notwithstanding the ones with custom distro plates replacing the side of the case or motherboard tray, for example) look very nice but to me are just well-built PCs. This has form and function both. There was one a while back that was like an engine with working pistons and dials - these sort of mods/scratches are the winners, where the outside does its thing as expected when viewed, but it's also a working PC.

Got to say I also love the pics with the bread and toms in - very rustic.

Get it in the mod comp, man.

Ah, you've got me there! From memory, there was a forum section for ongoing mods, then I think if you got entered into Mod of the Month, you'd wind up in the Mod of the Year (by default? After winning?). There were quite some rules around entry - let me see what I can find and I'll report back, although I'm sure some of the more seasoned vets will get here first!

@sandys has helped me out a bit in the past - he may know.

I love this. Both in terms of skill and creativity and in terms of just bringing a smile to the face. Excellent work :)

Hey bud - apologies, I saw you were already in the project log forum and then I got distracted whilst looking for rules as I thought you had it covered. I see you're in this month's comp though, so - vote registered! Good luck.

Out of interest, what were the entry requirements in the end - did bit staff just pick their favourites or was there a registration process?

This is just incredible. I just love how you've tied in all the original toaster controls. Superb!

The contest article indicates they look at project logs tagged as complete in the month

I didn't do anything, I guess I was picked by the staff.
