NEW YORK - Early one morning a few weeks ago, Kara Borden, a 14-year-old from Lititz, Pa., logged onto MySpace. The young, bubbly, blond-haired, brown-eyed homeschooled high school freshman had a profile on the popular networking site.

Her page was brightly colored with pink-lined black boxes listing her friends and hobbies, a rainbow striped white background and a picture of her in a pink top, smiling with lips closed to hide her braces. She listed her interests as soccer, talking on the phone, the beach and partying. "Books are gay," she wrote. She lied about her age, listing it as 17.

A few hours later she allegedly stood by as her boyfriend, David Ludwig, 18, shot and killed her parents.

See? It's not the guns that kill people, it's MySpace! Evil evil place that is :miffed:

A good read into the evil that is MySpace and how you can have the media exploit you for free!

The whole of MSN is a bit dodgy if you ask me...

And wait: doesn't it say somewhere they are Christians? :p (Just kidding!)

Im confused, it doesnt explain why having a blog made her boyfriend kill her parents. Were they book lovers or something??

Mummy thought it would look nice in Comic Sans and Daddy pointed out a 'your' should be 'you're'.

Kids...they do over-react to any slight criticism at that age. :sigh:

OMG they log into a web blog site, next they will be telling us Charles Manson kept a diary.

Well, I - like the rest of the world - fail to see any connection. Oh well. Read the first page of the article, can't be bothered to put up with their poor journalism method to find the connection.

It's just way to include something techie in a story of two deranged teenagers... Some way to blame the blogs, although totally ineffective..

It's the MSM...if it bleeds, it sells. They'll blame the gun maker, the ISP, myspace, Microsoft, and Al Gore (he invented the internet, afterall).

Whoopee doo, Myspace has nothing to do with what he did? Ive got a Myspace account, so if i go kill someone does that mean Myspace will get flamed? that story has alot of info missing making it completely crap tbh.

18-yo boy trouncing 14-yo girl, her parents don't like it, want to pull plug, kids say "We're in lerv", boy has gun, boy & girl go shoot parents. What more do you need to know? Why? Ask Nexxo.

It always (allegedly) comes as a 'great shock' to family and friends when some kid does something weird (like our UK-born suicide bombers). However, some of the language used by people less close gives clues. "Full of life" = disruptive in class, etc. Now the media have a blog to explore and analyse where the girl tries to put out the image she wants to be seen as - a cool 17-yo. Should provide a good few column-inches.
