YOUNG Australians are becoming too drugged and too fat to serve their country in the military. Increasingly unhealthy lifestyles - coupled with the ageing population and competition from private sector jobs - are hindering efforts by the Australian Defence Force to attract enough physically and mentally fit recruits to defend the nation. On current trends, the ADF warns that the defence force will shrink from about 52,000 personnel to 48,500 by 2010 -- significantly below the 55,000-strong force planned by Defence Minister Robert Hill. The ADF's internal recruiting plan for 2005-2010, obtained by The Australian, warns that overuse of recreational drugs -- particularly marijuana -- among 15-year-olds, and junkfood-related obesity in the young are expected to worsen over the next decade. Could you imagine it: all of the worlds armies being slowly dwindled down by fat, drunk, stoned teens to the point where they're almost helpless? You know, in some sick way, I can't help but think that if more americans were fat, druged out, and drunk, that GW would have killed a lot less people Maybe thats how we should fight these terrorists! Send them beer!
Lol this isn't suprising though teens are easy to be convinced to do dumb things and how do I know? I've been through that phase myself... There are times in your life where you make a decision such as hmm should I try that joint? beer? cigarette?
Hmm, this raises an intresting question. Whats worse, smoking a joint, or killing people for your country?
Smoking a joint is worse, killing people to DEFEND you country is definatly a lot better... if killing an enemy was banned we would be run by the Germans for another 939 years...
So its ok to kill someone, but its not ok to smoke a drug? Intresting morals you've got there I think he's implying that the US wouldn't have been invaded
Perhaps he was being sarcastic... I've learned this from time to time that as was told to me "tonal variations and yadda yadda yadda can't be heard over the internet" crap over and over again...
Whatever happened to "today, Europe, tomorrow, the world"? I do believe that was a Nazi line... And honestly, if the US of A didn't fight back, the Japanese would have beat Hitler to us. Whether Hitler would have challenged them for the world or not, I really don't know.
