I saw it cheapest on Amazon I think, at about £28. Steam was the most expensive, selling the normal version for the same prices as the deluxe edition. Speaking of the deluxe version, does anyone know if the 2 exclusive items are actually useful, and what they do?
cosmetic items only, the CE on the other hand has both OST's (utterly godlike) and a massive artbook thats very pretty. your call.
Yea the soundtrack did sound pretty good when watching your vid. I assumed the extra content was cosmetic, but there wasnt really much info about them around. Thanks again for the info mate!
I'm dead jealous. I've bought Skyrim this month, I really want Anno 2070 and Battlefield 3 and Arkham City but I can only afford the one Yeah I had problems with land space, I still haven't managed to do the Elector scenario in Anno 1404. I just don't get how you can fit everything you need onto the islands provided. The screenshots of your Eco city is very impressive. I'm guessing that's several town centres? I never really used more than 1, perhaps that's where I'm going wrong and I should find an island that I can build a few of them on, then ship most of the goods they need to them.
I've had quite a few people ask me how best to play it so im rendering a Master Class video as i type
Cheapest atm is from shopto.net 26.86 im tempted to get it and anno 1404 though 1404 seems a bit hard to get. 5 pound for the basic game on amazon or 18 for the gold edition.
You definitely need multiple town centres - if only to generate the tax income needed for high level production facilities. I'm currently on Campaign 3/2, with two eco town centres and one tycoon - generating over 1k income at points, though in late-stage it's down to around 400-500 due to the massive drain of producing things like steel, uranium, heavy weapons and the like. The space issue is a bit better - my tea farms were at 121% last time I checked. My only criticism is that getting the eco balance above 0 is remarkably hard on some maps, and takes a lot of modification buildings.
Well game is on its way, though tempted to get anno 1404 after watching gunsmiths video, i like the time period setting.
i just discovered that the ability to change houses is in 2070 as well, i had more fun building this scene then im willing to admit
Snazzy, will look forward to getting this. By the time I have played all the games in my back log (including anno 1404) this should hopefully be a little cheaper.
Gonna have another bash at Elector on 1404 as I don't have the money for this yet. I think I'm gonna have to wait a while, don't have the money at all at the moment and xmas around the corner :S
patch 1.01 was released earlier and there are some significant changes, the biggest being the cost of building the hydro electric dam which is now ridiculously expensive compared to what it was (thankfully i built mine before the change ) oh and there is a nice performance boost as well. The most important changes: • Stability of multiplayer mode has been improved • Stability of campaign mode has been improved • Stability of missions has been improved • In rare cases it was impossible to defeat „F.A.T.H.E.R.“ in the last mission • Stability of item slots has been improved • A save game error which led to a warehouse being able to delete a nearby ark from the map was fixed Further changes: • Intro video: Eve’s first audio played too quietly, even at maximum volume • Achievement unlocking has been improved • Sometimes the wrong quantity of goods had been loaded when trading • Improved damage animation for pirate base and Sokow branch office • Music could have occasionally been missing from the mission outros • Errors with World Council actions were corrected • Wheel of needs did not automatically update when changing from one residence to the next • Added additional “Back” function to the “World statistics”, “Message archive”, “Profile data” und “Daily events” sub-menues • “Return to C.O.R.E.“ scenario: Increased incidence of fertility for algae • Improved the animation of the B 13 Condor in hover mode • Various minor graphical errors have been corrected • Text overlaps & errors were corrected • Rare problems occuring during ANNO 2070 registration on ubisoft.com were fixed • Problem with disproportionately large campaign save games was fixed • The problem causing the serial key to be demanded twice was fixed Balancing adjustments: • Unlocking of the “Firebird” Bombers adjusted to Tech level “Lab assistant” • Cost of the Construction plan for the „Hydro-electric dam“ increased to 5 generators. 3 maintenance units and 1 prototype were also added to the cost. • Cost of the emergency equipment for extinguishing oil rig fires reduced to 1500 credits and 20 tons of tools. • Cost of the effluent pump reduced to 5000 credits and 15 tons of tools. • Damage done by the “Colossus” warship increased to 60. • Damage done by the “Colossus” depth charges increased to 260. • „Hovercraft“ hitpoints reduced to 350, damage against ships reduced to 25, number of item slots reduced to 2, loss of speed caused by damage increased. • Military AI optimized.
Interesting changes, im installing today as pc has been out of action for a few days with my copy of anno 2070 sitting next to it. Is the patch large to dl?
Thanks for all your postings on this game Gunsmith. I wasn't aware of this title at all, but now it might be the next on my list after Skyrim. I noticed there was hit points and things listed on the balancing improvs. Does that mean there is war as well? Is it sort of automatic balanced out against your economic and diplomatic decisions? Mostly, it just looks so lovely...
There is combat, same as in 1404. You build military units at the cost of various resources (steel, tools, ammo etc) and can then wage war - capturing enemy islands etc. It's not high strategy, but it does the job. I wrapped up the campaign last night
ive yet to finish the campaign myself, too busy building massive cities in the continuos mode, my latest city "Paradiso" is completly self sustained after 24 hours of construction and is balanced perfectly with little over production, **** i even made an Anno for beginners guide whilst making it. i think i'll work on a Global Trust city next now I've mastered the Eden Initiative.
