OK so I got these two front intake fans on my Dell.

They're 4 pin. I've disconnected one to make way for an LED fan and now I'm greeted with a error message I can't disable every time I boot the PC.

Is there any way to mod the wiring to make it think it's got a fan plugged in?

Can you plug the other fan in its place? Sounds like the one you took out was viewed as the CPU cooler fan.

Is the replacement fan also 4 pin?

Will try that in a bit, though the top fan is for the memory so I fear it'll throw up another bloody warning instead :(

No mate, two pin. And it's going to a fan controller...

Then likely that's your problem. Motherboard doesn't see any fan action so it lets you know.

If there isn't an option in bios to disable it then you will get a warning every boot, its the Dell way :)

Only option would be to have a fan with a speed sensor wired to the header.

I'm wondering if I could make a loop back device that clears the warning. It's just a pain is all..
