Ooh Meblin, you've just reminded me of the one that REALLY drives me insane!!!!

When people spell tongue (I say tung too by the way) tounge. Loads of people do it, can they not see that would be townje????!!!

SQL is ess-que-ell. It says so in the front of my SQL books at work, so it must be true ;)

I say Nike like bike and Adidas like addy-das. A whole load of stuff changed around the same time, suddenly we had ad-dee-das and nikeeee and porscher... WTF??

#Walkin' through town in the broad daylight, not lookin' for trouble, not lookin' for a fight when some fool tries to snap my back, better shut yo' mouth and take a step back. I'm in the wrong mood for these bad jokes, I can read from their notes, you've been programmed - your thoughts are a picture show, all this **** you talk, well it's coming to an end so get yo' coat. now you might have the muscle, but i got the brains, just gimme the list and we'll take down the names. Got some mary jane, it's all I need as I bring it to the end with my DJ enemy...#

OnTopic=I just dislike people who talk lazily...who don't even bother to enunciate half decently...

SQL, as in 'SQL server' is pronounced "Sequal". Dont ask me why, it just is.

How do I know? I have a video from a microsoft SQL programmer who pronounces it like that, plus its a microsoft presentation video... it really cant get more 'official' than that.

I don't like it when people say 'scuzzy' for SCSI...

I know 'scuzzy' is the correct term, but 'ess-cee-ess-aye' sounds better to me :blah:

Okay, is it carra-bee-an or ca-ri-bee-an (for the small islands in the gulf of mexico, I say the 2nd)

And the small wax instrument you use to color when you are a kid is a cra-yon, not a crown as soooo many people say it.

    One more little one. Say zoology.....nope, sorry. It's not zoo-ology. It's zo-ology. It's not bio-ology, is it?

It must be zoo-ology. It can't be zo-ology because the zoo is obviously meant to be said like 'Zoo'. I don't think it should be said zoo-logy because that doesn't fit with all the other 'ology's. And it isn't spelt like it sounds because zooology is just too may Os ;).

Also I say cari-be-an. Not ca-RI-be-an... but that's just a difference of english and american accents. If we accuse one of them as being inccorect we'll probably all be saying tomaydo. :p

*Everything* mentioned so far annoys the hell out of me.

Anybody that says fwee, free, or any other idiotic derivative of "THREE" deserves to be shot.
Do parents not teach their children to say "Three little thrushes went on a train, through a tunnel to thetford" any more!?! (Or has no-one else heard of that, and I've just made myself look really silly?
I also think it's terrible when music artists do it. It's influential and should be stopped.

    Sumthink - shoot them all
Anyfink - combination of the two. Burn them.

    It's Nike.
And it IS Addy-das. It's named after the athlete Adolph (Adi) Dassler. If you want proof, read this article.

I say both Ess-Queue-Elle and Sequel.
    Zoo-ology

I can't think of any of my own personal gripes with people's bad pronounciation of the English language, but I'm sure I will.

    <EdiT>
    Oh.

    Ad-ver-tiss-ment
    NOT!
