heres the deal... i have minidisc, and i record from my lineout with an app called MP3 to Minidisc (original name, it leaves small silences between trackz so they are counted as seperate tracks, doesn only do MP3)... so i thought a great idea would be to build in a little female mic jack! i know this has been done before, but i haven't seen anyone actually do it, just plates made my companies -- and wheres the fun in that? so thats what im gonna attempt.... anyone know where to get female mic jacks? ive only found Screwfix to do them (cant find link)
I had a great idea for a mini disc mod, but have never put it into practice. You could make a mini disc docking bay. What u would have to do is use a 3 1/2 or 5 1/4 inch bay (Old Floppy or CD Rom casing) and on an empty panel cut out the outline for your md player to go into. Then you would have the input/output jack(s) from ur soundcard fixed to a panel at the back of the bay. Add padding to protect the player. Then all you would have to do is slot the player in then be ready to record. Saves FAFFING about with wires and brings the two components (PC and MD) together. You could also have the power cable going into the player recharging it. Just my 2p!
