If you use AIM or MSN messenger then you are at risk for getting this virus. it comes in the form of a link that says www.msgrpics.net<your e-mail here> and says are these your pics?? and if you click on it it takes you to a page and tries to download a MS-DOS application which is the virus. a friend of mine got the virus from just clicking on the link so it doesnt have to be downloaded for you to get the virus. users beware.
theyre usually blindingly obvious. I find it hard to believe that people still get their myspace (and other such things) hacked when it's so obvious and there are multiple warnings anyway. either way, there are still some people that will. thanks for the heads up (even though I think it may be a little old)
I have been finding myself using AIM less and less and using the steam friends more and more, plus I run FF so I feel like Im not at risk. If its some wierdo sending me IMs then I wont click the link anyway.
A relative of mine got the same virus today, I was actually LMFAO as it said "Do I look good in this underwear?", followed by a ZIP file. (Yes a zip file, clever) And my relative is a bloke, heh.
I got that one.. Blocked the person and closed the window. It's amazing how retarded some people are, clicking on links randomly, downloading almost any file, running it and then when their computer crashes they blame Windows for being ****. Lol.
actually if Windows made running near impossible of a normal users that should stop allot of stuff. Or even better back to command line, if they can't use the computer they can't break it
Does that really help? I thought they were just automated spam machines that quickly messaged everyone in your contact list... Surely after it's done it a couple of times it'll stop/be removed?
That's what spawned Vista, and it certainly does seem to have less virus problems. It's just that people are whining about how annoying the confirmation messages and such are. Can't please 'em all.
Yeah right. I do phone support as a job right now (for products, not for idiots who click links in IM windows), and that's the ONLY time I've ever been paid for doing computer support.
My dad sometimes fixes my car while i fix his computer... tbh what mechanics charge up i'm getting way more value.
